• The 15th Asian Health Forum held in Auckland

    The 15th Asian Health Forum held in Auckland created much health awareness and understanding about the health issues faced by the Asian migrants in New Zealand. Approximately 200 people representing government agencies, Non-Government Organisations, health service providers, as well as community representatives attended the day-long forum which was organised by the Asian Network Incorporated (TANI).

  • Race Relations Day

    On 23 April, we attended the Race Relations Day celebration event in Wellington organised by the New Zealand Federation of Multicultural Councils (Multicultural New Zealand), in partnership with Multicultural Council of Wellington and the Human Rights Commission.

    Race Relations Day (21 March) has been observed in New Zealand since 2003 and marks the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.  The date is the anniversary of the Sharpeville massacre in South Africa in 1960.

    Our most iconic constitutional documents were moved in the early hours of Saturday morning (22 April) in an emotional and uplifting atmosphere.

    At 4am a pūtātara heralded the start of the journey from Archives New Zealand to their new home at the National Library in Wellington.
