Minister's Update - April 2015

Over the next few months I will be holding a series of forums around the country to learn more about our ethnic communities. The forums kicked off this week in Taupō. Information about upcoming forums and how to register are noted below.

Mentoring Ethnic Community Organisations

From Traditional to Heavy Metal

They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and that’s certainly the case for Xi Yao Chen. The Hamilton-based musician, who moved to New Zealand 13 years ago, is the latest in a long line of family members to play the Guzheng, the traditional 21-stringed Chinese zither.

Summer has come and gone. I have spent much of it attending many events all over the country which celebrate our ethnic diversity.As I spend more time in my role as Minister for Ethnic Communities, I am still amazed and delighted by the colour and the beauty of our cultural festivals.
