There’s a new buzzword on the block and its one that I’m pleased to see gaining traction through the media over recent months.  It’s a social science term used to describe a level and depth of societal experience that surpasses all others to date and it perfectly captures the changing face of our society here in New Zealand.  I’m talking about ‘super diversity’ and you should be talking about it too.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting the first group of graduates from a government initiative to nurture future ethnic leaders.

I sat in on a question and answer session at Parliament, surrounded by these bright young people who are able to trace their roots to many countries and ethnic groups.

It was a hugely positive experience to listen to the hopes and dreams these young people shared with the group, and to answer the questions they asked me.
