    Winter well and truly hit our country in June with extreme temperatures recorded as Mother Nature turned down the thermostat.

    For Muslims across the world, June is the month of Ramadan - the ninth month of the Islamic (lunar) calendar which began on the eve of 19th.  This is a period of increased prayer and reflection where fasting is observed between dawn and dusk and I’d like to wish those New Zealanders observing Ramadan a peaceful fasting and reflection time.
