    This year Epic NZ 2016  includes three knowledge exchange sessions featuring inspirational speakers with a focus on:

    Leveraging Cultural Diversity

    Harnessing the potential of diversity is crucial to business success. This session features Maori, Pacific and ethnic business leaders, who will share their experiences of leveraging cultural diversity and social capital that has enabled them to reach more diverse markets and customers.

  • Ethnic Affairs at the NZ Diversity Forum

    The Office of Ethnic Affairs supported the Human Rights Commission at the New Zealand Diversity Forum in Christchurch on 24 and 25 August. The forum was an opportunity to learn, share and meet people working to support cultural diversity and positive race relations in Aotearoa New Zealand. The forum brings together communities of interest, central and local government, the voluntary sector, business, civil society and young people from around the country. This year’s theme was “Migrant and Refugee Employment: Valuing Diversity.”

  • EPIC NZ 2014 in Wellington inspires and informs

    Wellington played host to its second EPIC NZ conference on 26 June 2014. Approximately 160 people enjoyed an opportunity to make new business connections and to listen to an inspiring line-up of speakers. The conference focussed on the potential in the city’s small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector and the day provided practical advice on how small businesses in New Zealand can ‘make it big’ at home and offshore.

  • EPIC NZ Go Global Blender business networking event

    On 9 April the Office of Ethnic Affairs in partnership with ExportNZ and the Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA) hosted the inaugural EPIC NZ Go Global Blender business networking event in Auckland. The Blender networking event series is all about creating business opportunities, connections and innovation through diversity, and this event brought together the Ethnic People in Commerce (EPIC) NZ and ExportNZ networks for the first time. A full room of diverse business professionals gathered at the BNZ Partner Centre on Queen St, to hear from keynote speaker Malcolm Rands (Ecoman), CEO of ecostore, and MC and TV3 Reporter, Simon Shepherd.

  • Wellington EPIC NZ Conference Hailed a Success

    Wellington’s EPIC NZ Conference turned out to be a successful networking opportunity for local businesses, who took advantage of the first conference in Wellington to make new contacts. Over 120 businesses registered for the Wellington conference.
