There has been much to celebrate this past month in our diverse communities.

I enjoyed performances by the Loboc Children’s Choir from the Philippines. The choir was part of the Voices to the World Concert at the Auckland Town Hall earlier this month and sang alongside the Aotea Youth Symphony and the Auckland Girls’ Choir. The repertoire included Filipino folk songs, a Disney medley and Pokarekare Ana and an extract from Swan Lake. It was simply beautiful music and an example of cultures connecting through music.
