Build an App for New Zealand Youth

The Manawatu Multicultural Councils, New Zealand Human Rights Commission, Independent Police Conduct Authority, Multicultural New Zealand and Hui E have partnered to hold a series of youth workshops nationally. The purpose of these workshops are to explore some of the barriers youth face when accessing social services particularly when they require assistance. The workshops will provide a positive environment to interact, discuss these issues and mutually educate and inform.

Young people will also contribute to developing a Youth APP - YouthAoteaReo funded by New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO. This will serve as an ongoing national resource to support youth.

The workshop is free to attend, includes dietary appropriate meals and wifi. Open to all youth aged 14 - 25, however age is not a barrier but a guide. The focus is on getting the key voices of youth in the workshop and to create a fun day of activity to strengthen engagement with youth from Maori, Pacific and Ethnic communities including those with former refugee and migrant backgrounds.
