    The Mujeres in Aotearoa Incorporated (MIA) – Latin American Women’s Group are having a festival from 11am – 4pm Saturday 29 October at Wellington High School, 249 Taranaki Street, Mt Cook, Wellington. Koha Entry – Cash only (no EFTPOS).

    The 2014 EthnicA conference programme will feature ethnic leaders and professionals whose success is built on their ability to "walk in two worlds". Hear also from emerging young ethnic leaders about the New Zealand they are working to create and be challenged to consider your own 'right to lead'.

  • Budding social entrepreneurs meet for Wellington workshops

    A group of 12 budding social entrepreneurs have met in the Capital as part of the Office of Ethnic Affairs’ workshop in Wellington on the topic.

    The social enterprise model is seen as an alternative funding source for organisations which have traditionally received grants from the Government.

    It involves organisations that blend social or environmental objectives with a commercial orientation. More information

    At the first workshop in Wellington on 8 December the 12 participants heard from four speakers.

  • Nepal evening brings many ethnicities together

    An event hosted by the Nepalese Society of Wellington, with the support of the Non-Resident Nepalese Association, New Zealand to raise funds for a school for disadvantaged children in Nepal attracted a crowd of over 300 people.
