Nominations will close on 28 October 2020 at 12:00pm

Nominations are now open to recognise ethnic community groups and organisations that made a difference in your community during COVID-19.

The Minister for Ethnic Communities, Hon Jenny Salesa wants to acknowledge the support of our ethnic community groups provided to all as we collectively came together to Unite against COVID-19.

“As we continue to focus on rebuilding together, I invite you to nominate those groups that made a real difference during this time. I will then personally acknowledge and recognise the group’s contribution during COVID-19”.

“Aotearoa New Zealand is home to many people who identify their ethnicity as Middle Eastern, Latin American, African, Asian, and Continental European. During the extraordinary time of the COVID-19 pandemic, community organisations representing ethnic communities worked tirelessly to meet the needs of your local communities, regardless of ethnicity”.

“Ethnic diversity in this country is one of our key strengths. We must continue to build a socially inclusive Aotearoa New Zealand. When people in our communities and neighbourhoods needed help, many of you were to provide that support, and I thank you all for your support and contribution.”
